My name is Ashley Palladino and I'm a sophomore at FSU. I'm currently studying psychology and minoring in education and communications. I have a cat named Coconut who I found in a bush in August and she's my favorite thing in the world. I love her, as well as going out with friends, doing yoga, and going on long walks. 

I used technology in an educational setting only in high school. Before high school, I had never used any technology besides a TV and Xbox. The only sites I'm very comfortable using are Canvas, Quizlet, and ChatGpt. Other than those three I'm still working on mastering technology.

In learning, I use both on and offline resources to further my learning. Most online programs I use include Canvas, Word, and Outlook to contact the school and upload assignments. For understanding concepts better I turn to Youtube, Khan Academy, and TikTok. The only offline resources I use are my professors and the library.

For the technology standard used for 5th grade it includes basic websites such as Wordle, Youtube and Google slides. It includes explaining texts and using engaging educational sites. With my current skill set I feel I could implement this standard. It's limited to pulling up websites and navigating them, as well as creating basic documents such as PowerPoints. These are basic skills I feel I mastered in middle school and I would feel very comfortable implementing them in a classroom.  When coming up with material to give students I would find it best to create a unique curriculum. Though that can be a lot of work and very time-consuming it decreases the likelihood of copyright issues and engages the students more. It can also decrease the likelihood of cheating as unique material calls for unique answers. It is theorized that students have a decrease in productivity when allowed to use technology in class. While it's not proven I agree with this as I've seen many students use technology for other things during designated technology time. This causes students to fall behind in class very quickly. Ad blockers and site blockers would work well but I've seen lots of people get past them, so a better solution would be the teacher's computer being able to watch over the rest.  Though I agree AI can be so helpful if used correctly I've never seen it used for good.  1.  https://emespring2024ap.weebly.com/ 2. I don't use AI tools daily. I've used things predictive text, but I don't feel it's a major AI tool. It saves a few seconds of time but not much. I worry about privacy with AI. I don't have any questions about AI tools right now. 3. Using ChatGPT has been fun. It's cool to see how AI has conversations. I never realized how much goes into making AI bots. Again there's still security risks with AI to protect students from.  4. AI tools could be helpful for efficiency. A tool that can help with organizing materials could save teachers a lot of time. I'd be open to trying AI tools but I'd want to make sure they're easy to use and respect students' privacy. I think a simple one to use would be something to create lesson plans.
